About and FAQ

I began The Village Christmas Project in 2017 after years of helping individual families on a smaller scale every year. I was homeless at the time and wanted to find a way to help others when I couldn’t help financially. It is my hope that networking and social capital can assist others in the way I was helped when I was in need.

Families are either nominated or request to be included. An Amazon account is set up for them, and they create a wish list from which anyone can shop. We try to keep them as anonymous as possible. Families are asked to include both wants and needs for everyone in the home.

FAQ

I clicked on the link, but the wish list is empty.

Check back soon! The family hasn’t yet added things to their list. Many of them work multiple jobs, and I am in the process of adding things to them as well to help them out.

If I buy something off of their wish list, where does it go?

Anything bought off the wish list goes directly to the family or to a trusted person for delivery.

Do I have to buy everything on a list?

You sure don’t! Anything you can help with is appreciated, whether it’s one item or many. The families thank you for your generosity.

I have something I’d like to donate. How can I get it to them?

Simply contact us through the website’s Contact page, and we’ll coordinate getting your donation to the family.
